How Proofed Works
A quick overview of the proof request and approval workflow inside Shopify.
What is Proofed?
Proofed adds a structured approval workflow to custom orders. Instead of chasing customers over email, you send a proof link directly from the order page — the customer reviews and approves (or requests changes) in one click.
The Workflow at a Glance
- Order comes in — customer places an order that needs a custom proof.
- You upload the proof — attach a file or link from the order page in Shopify admin.
- Customer gets notified — a branded email is sent with a link to the approval page.
- Customer reviews and responds — approve, or leave feedback requesting changes.
- You're notified — the order timeline is updated and you can proceed to production.
All approval activity is recorded on the order timeline, so your team always knows the current status at a glance.
Supported File Types
You can attach proofs as:
- Images — JPG, PNG, WebP
- Documents — PDF
- Links — any URL (e.g., a Figma share link or Google Drive preview)
Customer Experience
The customer sees a clean, mobile-friendly approval page — no login required. They can zoom into images, leave a written comment, and click Approve or Request changes.
