Questions, answered
What production files do I get with each order?
A high-resolution PNG rendered at full print resolution, a production PDF sized to trim plus bleed, a vector SVG that works with laser-cutting software like LightBurn and Inkscape, and a cut-path SVG die-line in standard magenta with physical coordinates.
Can I limit what customers can change?
Yes. Each template has its own lockdown settings — restrict fonts and colors, lock dimensions and backgrounds, or hide entire tool tabs. You can also switch a template to form mode, where customers simply fill in fields that flow into your locked design.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. Design Studio ships as a theme app extension — add the "Design your own" block in the theme editor, position it, and style the button to match your store. No code required.
Do customers need an account to design?
No login is required. Designs autosave in the browser and survive a page reload, and the customer's design preview is attached to the cart line item when they add to cart.
Can customers edit a design after adding it to cart?
Yes — a "Design attached · Edit design" link appears on the product page. Edits re-export the production files to the same URLs, so the order always carries the latest version.
Does the editor work on phones?
Yes, it's built touch-first: pinch to zoom, tap to select, and a mobile action bar for font, colour, alignment, and arrangement. The form and inline modes are especially strong on small screens.
How does pricing work?
You only pay for completed orders that include a custom design, billed through Shopify with a monthly cap. The free plan includes 10 custom-design orders per month and one published template; paid plans start at $19/mo with a 14-day free trial.
